While it took a year to get him where he needed to be, this post features a VERY happy patient that received VERY conservative treatment.
If your teeth are mildly to moderately crowded or misaligned, Invisalign offers outstanding advantages whether you’re a teen or an adult, at a low cost compared to traditional braces.
Only doctors who have been certified in the Invisalign technique can deliver this service to you. Dr. Vane has taken multiple Invisalign certification courses, in order to deliver the best possible result in the most efficient amount of time.
The benefits of Invisalign
A modern alternative to braces with better advantages.
Many Invisalign patients show significant improvement in their periodontal conditions, because of the ease of cleaning straighter teeth. Aligning the teeth properly can reduce food traps caused by teeth that are too crowded. Unsightly “black triangles” at the gumline can disappear by aligning the teeth.
Reduced cost on veneers, crowns or bridges:
Aligning the teeth can also allow more conservative or ideal dentistry, especially if you are planning on having veneers or crown and bridgework done. Rather than building the new crowns or veneers into the bite that you already have, Dr. Vane can use Invisalign to create an entirely new and more comfortable bite for you. Oftentimes, the cost of Invisalign is far less expensive than the number of veneers or type of bridgework needed without Invisalign.
Less time in the chair.
Having the teeth in better alignment can also significantly reduce the amount of tooth structure that needs to be removed. The best part is, the cosmetic result can far exceed the results without Invisalign.
How Invisalign works.
6-12 months to straighter teeth.
Invisalign: Step by step
First, schedule a consultation with Dr. Vane. At your consultation, Dr. Vane will closely examine the position of your teeth, and listen to your dislikes about your smile in order to plan the stages of treatment.
Dr. Vane will take a series of bite impressions and photos of your teeth to send to Invisalign. The Invisalign company uses sophisticated 3-D computer imaging and scanning software to create a series of aligners based on those bite impressions.
In your second visit, Dr. Vane will review with you the smile she has designed for you from beginning to end, using 3-D software that shows you each individual tooth movement, from week to week, from the start to the completion of the case.
At a final visit, Dr. Vane will deliver the first few sets of aligners, and clear instructions on how to wear them and what to expect.
Every 4-6 weeks, you’ll have a check-up visit, where Dr. Vane will monitor your progress and give you the next few sets of aligners.

How much does Invisalign cost?
More affordable than braces.
Compared to traditional braces, Invisalign is often a low cost solution.
How much movement or dental work that needs to be done will ultimately determine the price for your Invisalign treatment; however, the cost is very affordable.
All dental insurances offering orthodontic coverage will contribute the same amount of reimbursement toward Invisalign as it will toward traditional braces.
Please schedule an initial consultation with Dr. Vane to find out more on what sort of dental work would need to be done and the cost for Invisalign braces.
How long does Invisalign take?
Much less time than braces.
Every case is different, but the average Invisalign case requires aligners to be worn for around 12 months.
For patients that want to speed things along, we offer AcceleDent – a fast, safe and easy-to-use medical device that can cut the time required for Invisalign by up to 50%.
Features of Invisalign
No wires. Comfortable. Removable.
Traditional braces require brackets securely affixed to your teeth and a wire connecting them that is gradually tightened in ways that will re-align you teeth.
With Invisalign, a series of clear plastic trays are worn. Each tray picks up where the previous one left off and in small increments, they end up repositioning your teeth into a straighter and healthier alignment.
Every two weeks, you set aside the aligners you’re currently wearing and start wearing the next in the series. They are barely visible when in place, as they’re made of a clear polymer and are customized exactly to your teeth’s positioning. You will never have to worry about being “hidden” behind a mass of brackets and wires!
The aligners are comfortable, and do not affect your speech pattern in the way that traditional braces can. The best part is, they are removable, allowing for easier and more efficient cleaning of the teeth, as well as the opportunity to take them out when eating, or at important social events!
Aligners are removable!
Ideally, you should wear the aligners 22 hours a day, and remove them only to eat, drink, brush and floss. But one of the great advantages of straightening your teeth using Invisalign is that you can remove the trays any time. If you have a special date, a job interview, or some other reason you can take them out for a few hours and simply put them back in when you’re ready again.
This ability to remove them is a valuable freedom, but mustn’t be over-used, because the aligners work only as long as they’re in position, and 18 to 22 hours per day is necessary to keep the tooth movement tracking with the desired sequence and time frame.
Dr. Vane also offers other orthodontic appliances for more limited movements, as a lower cost alternative.
