Many dentists & dental offices in Encinitas are closed during the COVID-19 Coronavirus Epidemic. Moonlight Beach Dental is open for dental emergencies – by appointment only.
In this video, I want to review the special infection control measures that we have at the office to keep you safe during this crisis.
First I have two negative air filtration units. These are completely backordered and sold out, but I’ve always had them. Normally we use it for mercury vapor removal, but right now it does
filters strong enough to remove viruses from the air.
In the back corner I have a Surgically Clean Air unit that has a si level of HEPA filtration system that cleans and turns over the air every five minutes so that it is actually surgically clean and removed of any viruses vapors and allergens.
I also have the option of giving patients scented nasal hoods that they can have pure oxygen throughout the entire procedure so that they’re not inhaling any vapors, or if they’re worried about any aerosolization, we do not have to worry about that, they can have oxygen.
We use rubber dams on all of our procedures anyway – which means we isolate just a single tooth so there’s no back splash into the atmosphere of any vapors or oral fluids
In addition, we have Optim cleaner which is a hydrogen peroxide base cleaner which is currently sold out. This does break down and kill the COVID virus.
Throughout all the procedures I am wearing proper drapes. I’m gonna be wearing my hair covering and my P100 mask. I have one for myself one for the team and we wear them throughout the
In addition, we have an ozone machine that is constantly making fresh ozone. Ozone also is an oxidizer that is known to kill the virus. So we have the ozone machine constantly bubbling, right over here.
Right above me, we have our ozone units that are a negative ion scavenger that can also
clean and to any viruses that are put into the air.
So I feel very safe working here, I feel safe for my team, and I feel safe and comfortable for you to come in should you have an emergency during this crisis. Thank you.
