I met Jeff through his wife, who had been a patient of mine for years. Jeff had not been to the dentist in 25 years, and what finally brought him in was a promise he had made to his daughter.
Jeff was grieving the sudden and unexpected loss of his daughter this summer. The promise he had made to her was to “be healthy”- and he already knew that he had many issues concerning his dental health.
Jeff also had avoided the dentist due to fear that the years of neglect would end up with a painful outcome. His loving wife convinced him that he could build trust with our office.
Meeting Jeff, I immediately felt all of the pain and fear he was going through, and decided that I wanted to help him with his dentistry, and to give him something to uplift him mentally and physically after such an emotionally devastating year. I decided to do the case by donating my time and materials, because Jeff is such a wonderful, special person and he really deserved to have some good happen in his life.
In just a few appointments, we were able to address the severe periodontal disease, as well as the broken teeth. I milled him an all new smile out of porcelain, instead of the plastic dentures he had been expecting. My team and I also corrected his very complex occlusion (bite) issues.
After. Top row of teeth replaced.
The outcome was amazing for the both of us. Not only did I get to restore his smile and his dental health, but I truly made a deep and lifelong connection with a beautiful person.
I can now call Jeff a friend, and I am grateful for having had the opportunity to work with him.
