Before. Deep mercury filling with decay near the nerve.
After. New bio ceramic crown with margins that are sealed near the gumline and nerve.
Some patients come in with decay below the gumline, or even decay near the nerve. No problem. We are able to isolate the tissue using a laser. This allows us to go way below the gumline.
While the tissue is retracted, we can image and mill new crowns in 1 visit – allowing the gum tissue to heal around the crown, like it’s enamel.
Without a plastic temporary crown to irritate the tissue and the nerve, even extremely deep restorations can have a successful and pain-free outcome.
