When this patient came in for a different treatment, we noticed a “pimple” draining on the gum.
The pimple is called a fistula, and it was pus draining from a failing root canal that was performed years prior at another dentist.
Here is a photo of the extracted tooth with the fistula attached to the root. Look at that bag of pus!
After the extraction, we used ozone to clean out the socket and collapse the fistula, then closed the opening using PRF from his own blood!
