Broke a tooth below the gumline? No problem!
Get tooth and gum surgery, plus your new permanent tooth – in a single visit.
Jessica broke a tooth below the gumline because an old, large mercury filling had cracked her tooth.
This happens quite often with mercury fillings, since the metal in the tooth expands and contracts with temperature, causing all sorts of trauma to to the tooth.
Jessica went to see an emergency dentist who was unable to help her, and then she came to Moonlight Beach Dental.

In a single visit, I was able to safely remove the mercury, hence the clamp in the picture.

We then did laser gum surgery to remove a bit of bone and several millimeters of tissue. A cord was placed to isolate the tooth.

Finally we made a perfect white crown in the same visit!
The tissue can now heal around the new crown as if nothing ever happened!
I love this job!
