This patient is 60 years old and he’s got Invisalign to correct an underbite that is causing excessive wear to his front teeth.
As you can see in the before photos, his upper teeth are short due to their position and wear from the lower teeth.
Using Invisalign, we are correcting the “end to end” bite, and pulling the front teeth into the proper position.
He’s only 6 months into treatment, but already halfway through. We now have the clearance needed to do some bonding (without even numbing), restoring the tooth length, and re-scanning the Invisalign to move the bonded teeth into their ideal positions.
If you’re wondering about the spot in the middle of his two front teeth, that’s called a black triangle. This is a spot where his gums should be, and at the end of treatment it should close up more.
After we are done, we will either add to the bonding or do veneers, but as you can see – it’s a dramatic difference already!
It’s a big advantage when your general dentist does Invisalign (instead of an orthodontist) on these combined cases.
