Foster (aka Doug) is my dog, and on some days you will find him here at the dental office. He’s actually a certified service dog, and his job here is to greet patients, and is available upon request for phobic patients who want extra emotional support.
Although I’ve taken Foster to the vet for yearly cleanings, I was not brushing his teeth nightly at home.
As a result, Foster recently had to go to the doggie dentist for a full set of x-rays, a full mouth deep cleaning and 1 extraction!
Like humans, dogs can build-up tartar below the gumline, and that can effect their overall health.
Now, I’m using a Sonicare electric toothbrush to brush Foster’s teeth on a daily basis.
He seems to “enjoy” it.
