When removing mercury fillings from a tooth, it is critical to remove the mercury safely. This patient wanted to be 100% positive all the mercury was removed. So in these photos, the patient could see that all the mercury was positively removed. After the removal, in some cases, you can be conservative with treatment and do a very large filling (instead of a crown) to save as much of the tooth structure as possible.
